JLL Selected to Lead Penn Station Office Leasing
JLL announces today it has been named the office leasing broker of record for Baltimore’s historic Penn Station. The team, led by JLL’s Peter Jackson, will be responsible for leasing and marketing 30,000 square feet of refurbished office space within the Head House and an additional 250,000 square feet in a brand-new building to be constructed adjacent to the railway station on the Lanvale lot to the north.
“We are honored to partner with Beatty Development Group and Cross Street Partners at this pivotal moment in the future of Penn Station,” stated Peter Jackson, Vice President, JLL. “This is the eighth busiest Amtrak station in the country – it has incredible potential to be a vibrant gateway and widen Charm City’s reach along the East Coast.”
JLL will cast a wide net for prospective tenants but sees significant opportunity with companies who are looking to be near some of Baltimore’s higher education institutions as well as creatives, architects, government agencies and companies with sister offices along the Northeast Corridor. “As the future of work continues to evolve, creating desirable office space atop Penn Station is going to be incredibly attractive for businesses seeking top talent. Not only will they have access to the highly educated workforce and creative class here in Baltimore, but they can now have seamless access to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York,” noted Jackson.
The revitalized Head House office space is slated to deliver in the first quarter of 2023, with the new Lanvale commercial building construction delivering as early as 2024.
“We are excited to partner with the JLL team for our commercial leasing efforts at Penn Station,” said Michael Beatty, President, Beatty Development Group. “With their local presence and experience, JLL has a proven track record of success leasing commercial properties across Baltimore. We’re looking forward to working with them to bring our vision of transforming Penn Station into a true mixed-use, transit-oriented development to life.”
In addition to Jackson, JLL’s Josh Bregman will aid in the leasing and marketing at Penn Station. Click here for more information about JLL’s Agency Leasing services.
