Preliminary Designs Revealed for Future Expansion at Penn Station
During the October 2020 session of Baltimore’s Urban Design & Architecture Advisory Panel (UDAAP), representatives from Gensler offered an exciting first look at the preliminary designs for the station expansion on the Lanvale lot to the north of Penn Station.
The brand-new, state-of-the-art station expansion will be connected and integrated with the existing Penn Station concourse and with a new planned high-speed rail platform, modernizing station functions and increasing capacity. Transit functions, such as ticketing and baggage, will be relocated to the new station expansion, freeing up the concourse level of Penn Station for future commercial uses.
